County Donegal: Inishowen Peninsula and Malin Head

Our new chariot for the week - nicknamed "James"... not entirely sure why, I slept through that conversation. This was at the start of our Sunday afternoon drive up to Donegal from Derry. We followed a similar route recommended by our friends at Irish Fireside.

A freshly thatched roof! The weather was beautiful - and the locals were taking advantage of the sunshine.

A familiar - and favorite sign.

A familiar, but less favorite sign - slanty car and squiggly roads.

A very cool beach - while it was somewhat stinky (we nicknamed it "the stinky beach"), we found some very cool sea glass and it had fantastic views of the bay.

Sea glass!

More beautiful views - less tourists in this secluded corner of Ireland.

Fantastic view from Malin head - this photo doesn't do it justice!

Tower at Malin head.

Pretty wildflowers at Malin head.

Our dinner stop on our way back to Derry - Simpsons.

Dad's takeaway from the beach - a "well-balanced" piece of driftwood.

  2. The sea glass was fun to find - we have a whole lot more from after this pic was taken. PLUS, the car is not that bad. They took one look at all our stuff and said we would never fit it all in the original car we reserved. :)
